LOCAL CHURCH IN YOUR LOCAL

The Church in the Pub  are looking at some of the issues raised in films. The series is called “Reel Issues” and the film  tomorrow (30^th Jan) will be “The King’s Speech”.  After that we’re meeting fortnightly on a Wednesday at the Wendover Arms at 7.45pm.

After the success of our previous quiz evenings, we’re holding another one at the Wendover on Thurs 7^th March.

Mervyn Cooke's 'O Derry Boy' smacks of Ireland and the Irish, and of his Irish background, and one feels the blood leaping from his prose.  This short childhood in pictures and poems falls neatly, if painfully in two parts.
